Turkoman Andkhoi carpets are recognized as some of the most culturally significant rugs from Northern Afghanistan. The defining feature of an Andkhoi rug is the octagonal "Gul". These are repeating floral patterns arranged in rows across the central field. They utilize high-grade Afghan wool, sourced from local Karakul sheep, which is exceptionally resilient. The primary colors are intensely rich such as dark mahogany, deep claret, and indigo black.
