Nain is an ancient desert city in Iran, famous for its unique desert architecture, ancient water systems, and historic monuments. Nain carpets are typically knotted with a cotton base and a soft fine wool shaved from the lamb's neck. Silk is extensively used to highlight motifs, giving the rug a luxurious sheen while emphasizing the intricate details. The color scheme uses a background of  various shades of Red. The design features a prominent central medallion and elaborate all-over curvilinear floral pattern, including arabesques, tendrils, and blossom motifs.
